Angel and bull

Toruń 2016 invites you for a very special event taking place on December 20th in Bistro Torre located in the Leaning Tower of Toruń – a Polish-Spanish Christmas Eve with images of Angel and bull.

The Polish-Spanish Christmas Eve is a joint collaboration between Toruń 2016, Local Tourist Organization, City of Toruń, Fort IV Żółkiewski and Bistro Torre. Apart from traditions wishes the event will present Christmas customs and cuisine very typical for both countries.

Symbols of those cities, an Angel and a bull, will be present during the event as a sign of close cooperation between Toruń and Pamplona bidding together for the European Capital of Culture 2016 title.

Sweets are of course an important part of the Christmas celebration and participants will be able to try some traditional Spanish candies, like “turron” prepared by Bistro Torre, as well as typical pPolish dishes made by Fort IV Żółkiewski.

An artistic program is also quite rich:

  • Angel and bull telling Christmas stories from Poland and Spain, a contest for children,
  • Polish carols performed by a school choir from Toruń conducted by Joanna Murawska-Wszelak,
  • Spanish Christmas carols performed by the Portamus Gaudium group led by Agnieszka Brzezińska.

It is important to note, that all dishes can be bought (starting from the very low price of 1 PLN). The gathered amount will be given as a Christmas gift for “Light” hospice.
