To be defeated and not surrender…
Bogdan Zdrojewski, Poland’s Minister of Culture, at today’s press conference announced the so-called „short list” of cities that qualified to the second phase of the European Capital of Culture 2016 competition.
The list includes the cities of:
- Gdańsk
- Katowice
- Lublin
- Warsaw
- Wrocław
Selection Committee, composed of experts appointed by the European institutions and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, will recommend one city from the list at the end of the second phase of the competition.
The final selection will be concluded in June-July 2011. Basing on the report of the Committee, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage will nominate one city to be the European Capital of Culture 2016 and notify his or her decision to the European institutions. The final decision will be made by the Council of the European Union in the second quarter of year 2012.

smutne i bolesne... ale nie jesteśmy nawet stolicą kultury województwa... może kiedyś tego starego sprzed reformy...
Kochani otrząśnijmy się z zadufania - przejrzyjmy na oczy... nie tylko świat ucieka i rozwija się, i pięknieje - polskie miasta też... a my???
Bądźmy dumni i rozumni... a nie zadufani, bo zaczynamy być śmieszni...
Ile porażek, niepowodzeń, nieudanych i niepotrzebnych inwestycji musi się wydarzyć, by otworzyć nam oczy, że jesteśmy prowincją i niestety nią będziemy, jeśli się nie zmienimy...
Póki co brzydniejemy i w środku i na zewnątrz...

Ta pochopna decyzja administracyjna nic nie zmienia - Toruń JEST stolicą kultury i jego mieszkańcy mogą to udowodnić, niezależnie od oficjalnych rankingów :)
