City - a cultural centre

What is the modern city? How it differs from the old great metropolis?

This theme involves a scientific conference which will be held on 19 November at the Department of History of Art and Culture, at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

What influenced the creation of large cultural centres? What stimulated their growth? For these and other questions about
the vision of the city in a cultural context will try to answer the conference participants.

Detailed conference program can be found at http://wwww.knhsik.wikidot.com
