Toruń as the star of the prom

Crowned heads, dukes and diplomats. Cream of the European Union and the Belgian and Polish aristocracy will appear on Polish Prom in Brussels. Toruń, European Capital of Culture 2016 candidate, will be the prom’s special guest on January 23rd.

Polish Prom will be held in the renowned Hotel Conrad International in Brussels. The prom can be considered as a promotional event. The point is to present Poland as a modern country, but at the same time a country faithful to its culture and traditions. Equally important is the charity part of the event. Funds gathered during the Prom will benefit three charitable organizations helping children in need in Poland, Wallonia and Flanders.

In Brussels, the city of Toruń will be presented in various ways – information about Toruń are to appear on printed materials and souvenirs connected with the prom. A photo exhibition is also planned. It is said that Małgosia Kożuchowska, a famous actress from Toruń, will perform at the prom and will sing a song accompanied by a piano.

Toruń 2016 will be represented there by Krystian Kubjaczyk, director of the institution and the Head of International Cooperation Department, Agnieszka Marecka.
