Bit City – final agreement

13.11.2009 14:41

Bit City is a projected high-speed train connection between the two capitals of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship: Torun and Bydgoszcz.

The initiative consists of three sub-projects that are implemented in different cities. The first relates to Torun. The second is the task of creating a more integrated transport system through the purchase of modern trams and trains and the construction of a viaduct in Solec Kujawski. The third element is the construction of a tram connection between the centre of Bydgoszcz and Bydgoszcz’s district of Fordon.

The idea of Bit City originated in the Marshal’s Office and the Regional Assembly (Sejmik) of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship, in cooperation with the authorities of Cities of Torun and Bydgoszcz. The completion of high-speed connection is planned for 2014.
