Africa Reggae Festival celebrates its 20th birthday this year. Reggae party starts January 29th in “Od Nowa” Club in Toruń.

This is one of the most important reggae events in the country. Plus, it is much more than just a concert. Starting from the very first edition Africa Reggae Festival collects money to help the needy on the Black Continent. This year edition, as well as a couple of past ones, is being co-organized by Polish Humanitarian Action. Its proceeds will benefit PHA’s missions in Sudan.

Radio Sfera from Toruń plans to broadcast the whole event lasting January 30th. It’s worth to visit “Od Nowa” or listen to Sfera as some cool bands will play there: Sunflowers, Paraliż Band, Sedativa feat. Dawid Portasz, Cała Góra Barwinków, Skambomambo and Alians – just to name a few.

Etno-museum in Toruń has prepared a new and interesting project, “Secrets of everyday life. Folk culture and related border issues from Kujawy to the Baltic Sea (1850-1950)”. The project starts Januart 28th.

The exhibition is a story about people, their everyday life consisting of both work time and holiday time. Many aspects of everyday life from the turn of 19th and 20th centuries seem to be astonishing, unclear and sometimes even exotic. Also, people living in those days found many phenomena from their surrounding mysterious but they interpreted them in compliance with many-hundred-year-old tradition and in accordance with contemporary outlook on life.
