NRD in concert

The end of January will bring many cool events in NRD club. From acoustic sounds to posr-rock, jazz and electro-beats – all that is waiting for you there.

January 20th is the date of Annie Rikje Rosenthal show. This young singer-songwriter and guitarist lives in Berlin and New York – that’s where she creates her music. The next day will see a birthday party of Freedom Sound Selecta – this will also prepare you for the „Afryka” reggae festival, one of the oldest festivals of this kind in Poland, taking place in Toruń. January 23rd is the date of the “Dark Roller” event showcasing a British star named Rockwell and musicians from Lithuania, Intakz and Kiloshaz, among others. The concert run will end on January 28th with a gig by Snowman, a band that is promoting their current CD entitled “Lazy”.

Formalizer on the go!

This Tuesday will see the birth of Culture Formalizer – a new idea of Toruń 2016 that is going to teach people how to organize events. Formalizer will help to solve most of the “paper work” problems.

Young people have great ideas but very often fail to make them happen due to massive “paper work”. Formalizer will help them get through that.

„Once a week, in the Leaning Tower of Toruń, a person will be answering questions connected with organizing festivals, concerts or exhibitions. We will be helping people in materializing their ideas” – says Joanna Gus, project coordinator. “Formalizer is targeted towards people who want to act, especially young people that start their cultural adventure” – she adds.

During those first couple of months Formalizer will be active every week, on Tuesday between 2 and 4 PM. The first meeting will take place January 19th.

Christmas carols

Christmas Carols National Festival will take place in Toruń on January 16th. More than sixty performers will take part in the event taking place in the Grunwald movie theatre.

Everything starts this Saturday at 9 AM with musical interviews. The best singers will be chosen to take part in the main concert starting at 4 PM. Apart from contest participants Greccio band will perform.

The next day, in Virgin Mary Church in Toruń-Stawki, money will be raised for charity during a concert that will close the festival.
